Information Technology is a study of the design, implementation, development, support or management of computer-based information systems, especially hardware and software to improve the quality of information for the public quickly and with quality.

In general, there are six functions of IT for humans, including:
1. Capture (Capture)
IT can compile detailed records of various activities. For example, receiving input from the keyboard, scanner, mic, and others.
IT can process / process the received input data which is then converted into new information. This data processing can be in the form of conversion, analysis, calculation, to the incorporation of various forms of information and data.
IT will produce or organize information into a useful form. For example graphs, tables, calculations, and so on.
4. Save (Storage)
IT can record information and data into a medium which can then be used for other purposes. For example, data is stored on flash drives, CDs, and hard drives.
5. Looking Back (Retrival)
IT is able to find and retrace information and data that has been stored. For example, looking for client data that has not made a payment.
6. As a Transmission (Transmission)
IT can send data and information from one location to another by utilizing computer networks. For example sending sales data to another team in a different location.
